Since launching Lights Out Miami, several important steps have already been completed to spread awareness and build the foundation for future action.

Completed Work

• Created educational infographics about light pollution

• Developed the official Lights Out Miami website

• Researched scientific data related to wildlife and astronomy

• Collected information on sea turtle disorientation and skyglow

• Designed outreach materials to educate the public

• Began building a public awareness campaign

• Organize community “Lights-Out” awareness nights

• Expand outreach through schools and local organizations

• Collect local light pollution data and observations
